School Information

Brookside Primary School offers a rich learning experience and a wonderful environment to pupils age 3-11.

Foundation stage

Our youngest children (3-5) are based in our vibrant and modern Foundation Stage Unit. Children aged 3 and 4 are entitled to 15 hours per week and can attend either all day Monday/Tuesday and Wednesday morning or Wednesday afternoon and all day Thursday/Friday. Children start full time school in the September of the academic year they turn 5 in our Reception class.


Key Stage 1
Year 1 and 2 children are based in the Bucknell building in our Key Stage 1 area. This comprises 3 classrooms, a shared resource area, playground, large grass area and jungle gym.

Key Stage 2

Years 3, 4, 5 and 6 based in the Brook Building. This comprises six classrooms, a library, ICT Suite, Learning Mentor room, kitchen, main hall, offices and community room.

Timing of the school day

The school day starts at 8:45 a.m. and finishes at 3:15 p.m. for all children (except nursery). This equates to 32.5 hours per week. 

There are also a range of extra curricular clubs that are run by our staff. As staff run these clubs voluntarily there is no cost to parents.

We also run a breakfast club thats starts at 8:00 a.m. and an after school club that runs from 3:15 p.m. until 4:30 p.m. (half session) or 6:00 p.m. (full session). Further details can be found on this website on the parents tab > extended services.
